Parkamo, which offers price comparison and aggregation of parking apps, signs an agreement with Parkman – Sweden’s largest operator of parking garages.
Parkamo was started by the venture builder company EPTI and launched in September 2019 with the goal of solving the problem of the fragmented parking market. In Sweden alone, there are at least 17 different parking apps and suppliers.
Per Edlund, CEO of Parkman: “I think Parkamo is innovative and a fantastic service for the consumer. When they also talked about Green Parking at the first meeting, we immediately jumped in. Now we can easily make all our parking spaces green.”
Parkamo Green Parking means Parkamo and Parkman using part of their revenue to offset carbon emissions for each paid parking. The money goes through Klimatkompensera.se which invests in projects that reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
The cooperation has been launched in selected car parks and will in the autumn be expanded to Parkman’s more than 200 garages and parking lots. In camera-controlled garages, customers are offered to easily start their parking via the Parkamo app and payment is then made automatically when they leave the garage.
“Now you no longer have to pay at the vending machine before you go out, or worry about getting an invoice afterwards. Parkamo takes responsibility for paying if you have parked longer than your free period. In addition, you park green!”
– Katharina Wagner
Parkamo CEO
In addition to the direct integration with Parkman, Parkamo has today also aggregated the parking apps MobilPark, EasyPark, Parkster and Göteborg Parkering on the Swedish market. You can also easily see which ones are the cheapest, meaning you can see that the cost of Taxa 3 in Stockholm varies between 15:00 SEK/h to 19:95 SEK/h depending on the parking app used. The user can then choose which app they want to park with.
