The Parking aggregator Parkamo appoints mobility expert, Katharina Wagner, as CEO – signs major agreements with large Nordic parking garage operator, major parking technology providers in Germany as well as renown parking infrastructure provider in Europe.
Parkamo originated from the startup factory EPTI and was launched in September 2019 with the goal of solving the problem that in Sweden alone there are at least 17 different parking apps that were noticed by, among others, Swedish Radio.
After successful growth in Sweden Parkamo is planning to focus its expansion on mainland Europe and has signed mobility expert Katharina Wagner as CEO of the group, effective on October 1st 2020. Katharina brings extensive experience in the parking and mobility industry through former roles as Head of Business Development for car2go in Europe and lately as COO and Co-Founder of the private car sharing operator Oply.
“When a market becomes too fragmented it reduces price transparency and free choice of operators for the customers. To improve market access for the customers there is only one way forward and that is to aggregate in the same way as with Hotels.com for hotels and Skyscanner for flights. In case of parking there might even be different regulations at municipal level creating an even more fragmented landscape or blocking out certain parking providers, thus creating an even more intransparent situation for the inhabitants. I am looking forward to changing that and to make parking transparent and accessible for everyone and everywhere!”

CEO Parkamo
Parkamo currently aggregates 8 applications which makes it the most comprehensive solution in Europe with the possibility to park in 20 countries, 4380 cities and 45017 areas. At the moment we are adding 1-2 new operators per month, increasing the area coverage significantly. Today, it is Easypark, SMSPark, Parkster, and ParkNow, among others, that are aggregated.
The Green Parking Initiative was born out of the desire to add additional value in an industry that is inevitably negative for the climate. This is why when parking via the Parkamo app we are compensating, for all parkings, a part of the carbon dioxide emissions from the car by donating to gold standard tree planting and solar energy projects with klimatkompensera.se !
Parkamo is currently raising capital for market expansion in Europe as it has been proven that interest and KPIs in Sweden have been good.
“Today we have the best coverage in all of Europe, which has been achieved in 5 months only. In 6 months we will have the best coverage in the world and be the world’s most comprehensive parking application without the need to wina single procurement contract, similar to Uber and AirBNB is the largest in a similar way. The strong industry interest resulting in the recent agreements with such impressive players show the great market potential of Parkamo and is a big step in a great journey.”
